When it was made in the old days, radio tubes – IMHO – were not designed to listen to broadcasts 24 hours. Previously radio stations might broadcast 10 hours per day or maybe even less. It seems that heat has not been an issue at the time. After many years of igniting heat can have an impact on supporting components such as resistors, capacitors, coils, and transformers. Do not force the radio to turn on for a long time, such as more than 4 hours. Heat risks damaging the old components in it. Moreover, bread radios that have a narrow ventilation space. Provide enough space to breathe. Avoid moisture by not putting it outdoors that has the potential to get direct sunlight and humid rain / outside weather. Make sure the radio is TURNED ON REGULARLY, not just let stand for years like an inanimate object. But don’t overdo it like being forced to stop 24 hours, just 2-3 hours/day or whatever, the important thing is that the radio is activated regularly.

Many cases of radio purchased living conditions and died because it was never activated. I don’t know why I can’t be sure.

Before turning on, pay attention to the radio rating. All bread radios are designed to work at 110-127V, while radio table top is generally at 220V. Never plug the bread radio directly into 220V, the tube can explode due to excess voltage.
